I had to take the black housing off to be able to mount in my application, but it sounds good, for the price!Sounds great. I was also able to flip the horns in the bracket for I could mount them under my solar panels.Old horn was steel wrapped in plastic which rusted from the inside out. This looks very nice on the stainless arch. Kinda early to tell the long term qualityThe screw holes match my old horn mounting bracket that came on my Grady White 228G. Wiring was easy to install. I like the fact that the unit has a sealed housing for the electrical parts. As some models are not sealed and they electrical wire corrode and stop working after a few years and stain your Hull when they internal parts rust out.Would of liked then more if they were louder but match the factory horn.I bought these to replace the cheap single horn on my Avalon Pontoon boat. The Avalon is an expensive boat, yet they went cheap with the horn. These are nice looking horns, nice enough to mount on a deck, but I put them where I had the other horn, under the deck by the front tip of the toon. Even though they are hidden, they are very loud. Even though my pontoon boat is large and hard to miss, people still do stupid things in front of you. Having a good quality and loud horn is important. They are high quality and made of stainless steel.Great horn at a good price. Works very well and is loud - 106 db. Perfectly mounted on my boat without any issue. Several positions are possible to fit your boat. I like it.Only issue I had was figuring out the power and ground wire. Ground is the black with white stripes. Besides that, it’s a nice looking super loud horn for my boat!I was very happy, the mount, rubber shim, and look was looking pretty much the same as my 1984/5 Canadian Malibu 16.2 boat exactly.I took the old cover off my old horn, and it clipped onto the new one after connecting new one onto my boat.My old horn was tired and upon opening it up for examination, I found some determination by rust.New one sounds great and I suspect close to what the old one did when it was new.If you into renewing keeping the patina, this could be a good pick .The photo,is new horn with the old cover .1st one only worked about 5 times then only small sound coming out of it, so I asked and received a replacement.2nd one was even worse and barely made any sound, if there was any kind of Quality Control this would have been picked up before sending out to customers.Summary, I also returned the 2nd one and upgraded to a Marine Electric Compact Single Horn for Boat – Stainless Steel – Five Oceans (BC 0600) with COMPLETELY SEALED sound unit. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00J3AQJGM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviewsDon’t waste money for this horn. Spent the time to remove my old horn and install a new one. Wasted time as the horn did not work. To throw injury on top of I was hit with a second shipping cost to return it (shipping would cost more than the item). The product arrived on time. I have had this in the box for 2 months as I had no time to install it on my son's fishing boat. Yesterday I got together with him at the cottage. We installed the horn and it did not work but made a clicking noise. I rechecked all the connections but still nothing. This cost me a set of connectors. ( $2.35 ) I removed the top and adjusted the setting screw. Still nothing so I removed the the screw and give the horn a couple of taps replaced the screw and finally success. Know a big fight to put the top back on. Lets see how long it lasts. Good thing I have some tech knowledge. Not hard to install. Works great. Looks good. Installed above the deck on the side of the console. Hardly ever gets wet. Also installed a marine horn button. Wish that I had installed this horn years ago. It was one of many covid projects.
