This is a must item in my fridge. We dilute this to make soup for Japanese noodles (udon, somen), and use it as is to flavor other Japanese dishes. I have bought 64 oz bottles before. It lasts a long time, but also the bottle is huge. This time I bought this 32 oz (the price per oz was pretty much the same). And I do like the smaller bottle, as it fits in shorter shelves. This sauce is what it’s used to flavor authentic “Japanese” cuisine!Dilute this 10% + 90% soy sauce to use it when sautéing yakisoba noodles and to use it for eating sushi or sashimi, or adding 1 Tbs to Udon noodles or Ramen noodles, or any other soups, it makes everything taste more flavorful when cooking any Asian dishes.Try it and you’ll be hooked!Product arrived quickly and meets our demanding specifications! This is the brand I always buy when I visit a Japanese supermarket, but since the closest one to my location right now is a nearly 2-hour drive to Arlington Heights, Amazon was the only choice.Anyway! This is my absolute favorite brand of soup-base for making soba and zarusoba (that's cold soba noodles with the base used as a dipping sauce rather than soup). One bottle goes a LONG way (since making soup or sauce involves diluting a smaller amount of the strong, salty base with water), and if refrigerated properly it lasts a very long time, too.Last night's dinner was soba with added veggies; I diluted the base to the proper ratio for soup, then once it was boiling I added some frozen peas, chopped green beans, mushrooms, and a handful of frozen spinach. Five minutes later I poured it over ready-made soba noodles and had a hearty meal! (The spinach was a surprisingly good addition-- if you don't have wakame or other dried seaweed, it makes a nice visual substitute, and frozen spinach basically just absorbs the flavor of whatever you put it in, so it didn't "throw off" the taste of the soup. I'd recommend it!)I've tried other brands over the years, but this is the soup base I always go back to, as it tastes the most like the soba I've eaten in Japan and Hawaii. It was my first time cooking Beef Udon and it was awesome! My husband and I both loved it. It was close to restaurant udon soup taste. It's worth it! Highly recommendedThis stuff is delish! I was skeptical and thought it would be super salty and not necessarily "flavorful", but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a little on the salty side of course because it's a concentrate meant to be diluted in soup, etc., but not overly salty so I've also used it as a dipping sauce for meat and dumplings. I've also sprinkled it in my rice in place of soy sauce. I'll definitely be reordering.I use this product for a lot for cooking Japanese food. It’s not only for noodle dipping but also you can use it to cook mixed rice too. I often use it to make mixed rice with bamboo shoots.I use this for cold noodle dipping sauce, templa, or even to add a little extra flavor for stir fly rice or vegs. It's concentrated so you need only a little each time. It has very good flavor and taste. Shipping condition was super, too.
