I ordered these a second time for my neighbor she like them . so i thought why not .Made good chawanmushiProduct seems to be able to easily chip as one of the cups has a few dings, but these may just be minute imperfections that come with a hand made product. I have not dropped them as I imagine such a fall would break them. Products reliably keep my oatmeal warm, Design has the cup feel small, but it is a good size for a drink. The color is gorgeous and a great piece to have.This were exactly what I was looking for. I had to return them right away because one of the lids came broken. But I was promptly sent a replacement. Very good customer service.I wanted something that I could easily fit in my steamer and this does the trick.However my memories of actual Japanese chawanmushi bowls when I was living in Tokyo is that they tend to be thinner and a bit taller. This actually seems to be a repurposed covered tea cup which is popularly used in China and it is indeed made in China.I purchased these for exactly what they are intended to do - Chawanmushi (or Japanese egg custard). I bought 2 sets a total of 4. Here's my impression after using them a few times in the past 3 weeks making Chawanmushi and Double Skin Milk.ProsPackaged wellInexpensiveServe the purpose as a good containerConsBuild quality could be better (not the smoothest chinaware)A little small (it says 170ml... if you fill it up to the rim, in reality it's more like 140ml)These are nice. We got them for our elderly parents to soak their dentures. One set fit, one set was too wide for proper soaking.Steam eggs for my kids that really useful. And store it with the cover. Fantastic!Love the red color for my daughter this is good gift.
