It is good looking, functional and very useful to me while traveling and at office.HAZARDOUS: After my tea reached the preset temp.,(160), it completed the heating cycle with the series of "beeps," and appeared to shut down. While still plugged in, I walked away to use the restroom. Upon my return, I realized that the kettle automatically restarted the heating process on its own, until the temperature reached 190+. It DOES NOT KEEP THE LIQUID AT A STEADY TEMPERATURE. I REPEAT. IT DOES NOT KEEP THE LIQUID AT A STEADY TEMPERATURE. There's a 5 star review that says it does. That's a TOTAL FABRICATION!!! If I had not been aware and paying attention, the tea inside would have severely burned my lips!!! Just imagine if I would have tried to take a sip!!! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen!!! I exchanged 2 mugs for 2 others thinking that they may have been defective. I tested all 4 cups and they ALL did the same thing. VERY DANGEROUS if you're not paying attention!!! You cannotEven though the instructions says for "Water only," they promote the idea that the hole in the lid can be used for sipping as well. So they must mean sipping tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. because who sips hot water??? Lol. That's why I tried the tea and coffee. So basically, they are charging $54 for an added feature that can be VERY HAZARDOUS to your health. You can get the same kettle for about $15 to $20 cheaper, without the added HAZARD!Also, one of the video reviews (Pastorskinner, LOL) mentioned heating and drinking coffee straight from this mug, so I thought for that price, I would get somewhat of a travel drinking mug as an added bonus. WRONG!!!!!! Who decided what is an appropriate drinking temperature!!!!??? I tried heating my coffee to the 160 degree preset point and it wasn't hot enough for me, so I tried the 195 degree mark. That's when the volcano erupted and spewed coffee all over the place. ALSO VERY HAZARDOUS! For tea 160 degrees is sufficient for me but not for my coffee! Since this product is advertised that you can also drink from it, having only 4 preset temperature points is ridiculous!! NOTE TO THE RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT DEPT.: How about using my idea of having a mug with more than 4 preset points if you're going to promote the option of drinking from this mug. (For example: 160, 170, 180 degrees.) Everyone has different taste buds. Your opinion of hot may be my opinion of warm. Just saying. Would that have been too difficult?STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT if you are thinking about using it as a drinking mug. It's just an over priced water kettle. After writing this review, there is a positive note though. The concept and build of this product is excellent. It just has to be RECALLED and fine tuned. I have figured out a way to work around these issues for the tea and coffee, but it takes CLOSELY MONITORING the cup. Everyone doesn't have the time to do that. Now, as I try to get used to using this cup, I find myself leaning towards returning them for good. When I heat up my tea, I sometimes don't have the time to wait for the cup to "beep." And when I do try to do other things while it's heating, I forget that it's heating and it starts heating the tea automatically on its own towards the 190 degree mark. I don't think that I want to deal with this. You can't say that I didn't try though. Lol.Again, RECALL THIS PRODUCT and make it better and safer. Have a good day.? It has all the features I want and it is beautiful. But it doesn't seem to perform as the instructions say. btw the instructions are broken english and 4 point type. Let's make one in America.UPDATE: I was jonesn' for a cup of coffee so I tried it again. I think it worked the way it is supposed to; good enough really. I like that it can be stopped at 120-130°.The buttons are touch sensitive and don't signal or detent and are a little delayed.I am a tea drinker. And there is nothing worse than not having my hot water at the right temperature. I also love that I’m making water just for me. I don’t drink out of my thermos/water heater. I pour my hot water into a tea cup and then add my loose leaf tea. Yes you can use it for other things but this is how I use it and love it. I have not had any problems. Just luv. Hope you do too! Thanks.Love this thing, especially when I was in the field and actually had an outlet I could plug it into. Made those chillier days better and not just for hot coffee but for some cup of noodles or similar items. The different temperature levels help as well so not to burn your mouthI love this travel kettle. I had a silicon one before this and it always has a smell. This kettle has absolutely no smell at all. I love that it allows for different temperatures and also keep the water warm. The only down side is you have to remember how to use it because the buttons are not that initiative. I used this kettle 4-5 times a day during a 3 week long trip.I like everything about it
