I was so intrigued by Kalen despite his demanding ways. There was such a mystery surrounding his character due to all the secrets he kept, which was a huge part of why this book was so interesting and unputdownable.I was excited for this story ever since the book was announced. And now that it’s finally here and I devoured it, I have to wait for the second book! ARGH! Why is this world so cruel to me?!The Story:Bailey has sex with a stranger on New Year’s Eve, the day she was supposed to marry her cheating fiancé whom she left only a few weeks ago. This Scottish man, who calls her lass, knows how to press all her buttons. What a shame that she won’t be seeing him again after tonight. Well, until fate has other plans.Thoughts:Even though I didn’t a hundred percent connect with the characters yet (which I think will change when I get to know more about them in the next book), they both piqued my interest. Bailey still second guessed a lot due to the believes and behavior ingrained in her from the community she grew up in.And Kalen was more than the wealthy gorgeous man women were ogling from all sides. He had a surprisingly soft side which helped me to warm up to him on another level than only being turned on by his alpha attitude. Though I definitely loved his filthy mouth and when he spoke Scots.Although Bailey was sometimes very indecisive, I loved that she didn’t always fall to Kalen’s feet but gave it to him straight despite her obvious attraction to him. But fear not, she wanted him just as bad as he wanted her which gave us a lot of very hot scenes in this book!Lizzy, Bailey’s best friend was a great character and I hope that she will get a book of her own. Douchebag Scott on the other hand, Bailey’s ridiculous ex, frustrated the hell out of me and I can’t wait until karma catches up to him. There was one thing I just didn’t like and didn’t understand why it was even in the book. Matty. I think he was out of place. I didn’t know why he was suddenly an option and Bailey’s confused feelings for him were weird. It came out of nowhere and felt unnecessary. So, of course this story had an open ending as it will continue in the next book, and although there was somewhat of a cliffhanger, it wasn’t like a life or death situation. At least it didn’t feel that way for me. But I am still waiting on bated breath for the story to unravel.
