This company appliance is great in it's simplicity and what comes out if it. Of course you can't just put anything in it. I tried a recipe I found on YouTube (well a hybrid of two recipes) and it came out great. The texture was perfect. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Here's the recipe I used.Ingredients2 eggs separated1.5 cups milk4 tbsp butter1/3 cup vegetable oil1.5 cups all-purpose flour1/2 cup cornstarch1 tablespoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt3 tbsp sugarInstructions1 Separate the egg yolks and whites, and beat together the egg yolks, milk, butter, vegetable oil, and amaretto to combine.2 Whisk to combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.3 Combine the leftover egg whites with the sugar, and whip to stiff peaks (if you lift the beaters straight out of the egg whites, then invert the beaters, the egg white should stand up on its own as a stiff peak).4 Stir the milk liquid into the flour mixture (make sure the batter is still a little lumpy), then fold in the egg whites, being careful not to deflate them.5 Pour the batter into a preheated waffle maker and cook for about 3-4 minutes.Larger than what I wanted and when I finally got the size I wanted from Amazon it wasn't packed with any protection and came broken so now I have to spend time to correct Amazon's error thanks a whole lot!Bought this for one of my sister-in-law’s. She LOVED it ? no joke! Haha she was so excited we had waffle bowls with ice cream in it that night. It was so easy to use, plus it had a recipe book that came with! It had all kinds of a variety of recipes, from sweet to savory. Absolutely delicious ?Cleaning it? It wasn’t the easiest thing to clean, but not awful and totally doable. If you like waffles & edible bowls, this might be the appliance for you. The DASH waffle bowl maker is easy to use & cooks in less than half the time of traditional waffle bakers. Just one bit of advice: DO NOT TOUCH the appliance unless you are wearing heat resistant gloves or using an oven mitt. Unlike most waffle makers, this one has no insulation between the waffle plates & the exterior of the machine. I made the mistake of grazing the metal when trying to open the hinge & OUCH! Instant heat blister. Please keep the mild danger factor in mind before purchasing the DASH... and under no circumstances should you let your kids use it without supervision. But overall, this waffle maker has baked some tasty waffle bowls that we've used for homemade soups, salad & veggie chili - and the price was nice.My boyfriend and I got this for his roommate who eats ice cream like it's going out of style, and now he has the option to make waffle bowls from home. On New Years Eve we got a big tub of ice cream and made waffle bowls for our guests and it was a hit! It takes about three minutes for a golden waffle bowl, or just one to two minutes more if you want it crispier. It's an affordable product that is easy, quick, portable and not super messy. I also can't wait to use it to make taco bowls once I find a good recipe!I couldn't wait and used it as soon as I received the package. My only objection is that it is somewhat uncomfortable when opening it and that I had to use a spatula to remove it from the top. But nothing that would not prevent you from enjoying eating it. According to the instructions, the cooking time is 3 to 5 minutes, but 3 minutes was enough. I used the ready mix "just add water" for Belgian waffles and from the small serving of 2 to 3 waffles I got 5 waffle bowls.had to play with the cooking times.. I started off with 5 minutes per the instructions and tried one with four minutes than 3 finally got it down to 2 minutes which seems to be perfect for this area. also made some waffle bowls out of gingerbread mix those took 3 minutes.. put some Vanilla ice-cream in them with crushed peppermint candys.. that was our Christmas dessert. Plan on using this for many other things, like using a bread mix and putting spiced apples in the middle. or trying chocolate with cherries. for valentines day.. truly a versitle little Machine.. glad I bought itMy first attempt to cook with this was interesting. The first waffle oozed out of the side and all over the place. I'd added exactly a half a cup so I added a bit less and that seemed to work. Getting the hang of how long to cook each waffle is challenging but after a few raw ones and a few over cooked ones I did get some good ones. I'm excited to try other recipes and perfect the waffles so I can make this more often because it did cook really fast and both me and the kids loved it.Sure, it makes great waffle bowls.Try a Chaffle: 1 lg egg, 2 Tbs almond flour, 1/2 cup grated mozzarellaBOOM!! Low Carb Chaffle Bowl!Ready for a Keto friendly filling.Or split the mix with 2 DASH Minis to make a Ketowich or burger. And barely any clean up afterwards.DASH gets it done! This item came used! It wasn't even cleaned before being sent to me and there were no instructions in the box. Not very happy at all.Couldn't wait to get this. Arrived quickly.Used it tonight to make basic waffle bowls. Used buttermilk in place of regular milk, worked out very well. Waffle bowls made in 3 minutes. Use exactly a half cup of batter in a dry measure cup otherwise it will come out the sides. So very easy. Glad I bought it, and would recommend to anyone.Don't forget to think outside of the box with this! I've made Pizza "Bowls" i used it to make a cheesecake graham cracker crust bowl and also a waffle bowl that held sausage pieces and bacon lolLOVE IT!!Esparce el calor muy mal. Se quema pa parte baja y lo demás queda medio crudo. Además, se pega a la parte superior del molde. Estoy en proceso de devolución
