I received these well before the expected delivery date, so, kudos for that. They look just as they do in the images provided. I did immediately wash them in a mild soap, which removed the high shine they arrived with along with any dust and soils from handling All it took was a quick dry and a coat of board oil and they were back to a shine. This has to do with the craftsmanship that went in to making them as well as the type of wood used. They are hand-crafted so very slight differences occur, however, it's clear effort was made to keep the differences negligible. Anyone who buys wooden utensils needs to understand that they will require regular oiling in order to maintain their beauty and usefulness. They also can not be left to sit in water for long periods of time. I have very old wooden spoons passed down with years of oiling on them that do not require as much care but it does, in fact, take years to get there. These spoons are beautiful and very well crafted and will, with minimal care, undoubtably last my lifetime and beyond. I ordered one set to see how I liked them and just ordered three more for the rest of my jars now that I see the quality. The bowl holds 1 1/2 teaspoons, in case that is a concern. I measured on all five and the measurements held true.I love these spoons! They are very classy and unique. The utensil set we bought for our wedding didn't have soup spoons, so instead of trying to find one that matched, we tried something different and got these. They really are great.HOWEVER:1) They actually do come from Thailand, so they'll take a long time to ship. Not an issue for us, but just something to note.2) they're not the size of soup spoon you're used to. The bowl holds the same amount as a tablespoon, where I would prefer my soup spoon to hold a little more.Still, An excellent buy, and I'm ordering another set. When they arrive, they feel smooth to the touch. HOWEVER, as soon as they come in contact with liquid the coating on the spoons dissolves and the spoons are actually rough. I am not sure what they have been dipped in, but I don't think it can be healthy to dissolve like that. The spoons in the photo are of a paler wood than the spoons that were delivered ... These are very dark.I was very pleased with the Product, however in the description it says 6" spoon and I mistook it for being a set of 6 (which I was needing) but that is my fault for reading it wrong - My major complaint would be that it took a long time to receive them compared to how quickly I have always received other things I have ordered!Flimsier than I thought and edges were pretty sharp. I had to file the edges to make the spoons usable.Came a week earlier than expected, the spoon it self is not as big as I thought it would be. But they are great for the price.I had to wait awhile to get these but they are worth the wait. Super nice for condiments. I love natural and rustic things in my kitchen.
