We had a very good wire system but Petco no longer made a replacement collar for it anymore so the dog learned that the weak shock collar it started to put out the dog realized she could run through it with no correction. This was the perfect upgrade unit totally different shock collar and its fully adjustable up to 5 different levels, it also vibrates when she gets close to to wire and if she continues it will apply a shock and gets more intense as she continues. Well once ahe got the vibrate she has never tried again I dont think she ever got a shock yet or will. But its a very good upgrade for those who have a setup and dont need the wire but a new upgraded adjustable shock collar and it uses standard 9 volt battery.Great upgrade shock collar.
