To be honest I no doubt in my mind that this is a beautiful pole. The one thing I'm disappointed in is the photo description of the product picked for purchase. I ordered the 38 inch widowmaker. The photo showed me that it either had a Tennessee full cork handle. The next photo had the Tennessee split handle which I wanted. The 3rd and final photo had the picture of the Tennessee split handle with the tickle stick end. That is the rod that I thought I had ordered. It is not the one that I received. I probably with not return it knowing this is still a perfectly functional ice fishing rod. Just a heads up for you future ice fisherman!!!I wanted the 13 fishing widow maker evolve engaged reel seat ice fishing but after when everything is say and done. I got a 13 fishing widow maker Tennessee handle instead. Please check to make sure before you check out cause I got the wrong product. Not sure where the mistake happened but its customer service was great. I got a great deal on it and decided to keep it. The pole is a little stiffer for a medium light action but I love the way it feels on the hands. It's super light and the best part is the eyelet super small compare to my other ice rod they are big and fat. The Tennessee handle is soft to the hand. Feel like a custom ice rod IMO. I would buy another one if I had the money and the wife dont find out.Decided to do some ice fishing this year after years of not ice fishing, looked at many brands of rods and decided to go with the widow maker and a black beauty free fall. This combination is a really good feeling set up when compared to my older tackle, back in the day I typically adapted standard fishing rods and reels for ice fishing and the results were always mixed. The ability to buy a well designed rod and reel combo for ice fishing has me pretty excited about my new venture on to the ice this year.Arrived too late for panfish through the ice but caught some nice 18-20” trout with it—great action and excellent backbone with this rod. Would recommend if you can afford a moderately expensive rod. Can’t wait to use it for perch and other panfish next season!Awesome rodItem is not properly described the picture shows a rod that can accept a reel I got one that you have to tape the reel to rod and is going backLiking the rod a lot, very sensitive and quick. Had it for 4 months and will add another next winter, match it up with a Black Betty ghost makes a great combo.Good rod, just fits inside of my soft sided case, hooked a few walleyes last weekend with it.Fantastic rod. Soft tip with a good backbone. Pair it up with a good reel and your in business!!
