The pump's hose fitting was 3/8"; however, the check valve's barbs were only 3/16" to 1/4". I don't understand this disparity. Now I will have to order another check valve of the correct size. Wouldn't it be wise to advertise the disparity is sizes because the two parts have to work in tandem?Works well! Instructions are ok for a seasoned mechanic, me, but are ify for a person with little experience.I've purchased two of these now. They generally last a day or two. I'll be looking for another option to sense vacuum.These stop providing a ground after a couple hours of use and then fail to kick on my vacuum pump.My set up is Pump>check valve>switch>booster. Most of the time the switch would rapidly cycle the relay repeatedly but no for long enough to run the pump. I could watch the resistance jumping all around on the meter. It was great when they were working but I need a reliable mechanism to turn on my vacuum pump and not have it running constantlyBought the system for my '73 mustang. Big camshaft does not make much vacuum. System was easy to install. Between routing my vacuum lines and locating good battery positive source it took about 2hrs. First drive in car it has a great brake pedal. However, after only 4 months of use the pressure sensor failed causing the pump to not turn on. Not expensive to replace, $15, but disappointing. Over all it works great.I've had this pump system for about 6 months and the the relay failed once and the switch has failed three times and I don't what to do to fix this except to go with a different manufacturer. Very disappointedI bought this vacuum switch to use in conjunction with an electric vacuum pump. After replacing other parts that I thought were the problem it turns out this vacuum switch was bad from the start. Bought one almost identical to this one from Jegs and it solved my problem.Twice first the mechanical side was run after few minutes stop working so got a replacement now the electrical side stops even the system was directly installed properly yet everything Stops!!My review is for the switch only. The switch as delivered opens/closes at 17 inches hg vacuum and is fairly consistent. I was able to adjust the setting up to 20 inches by turning the screw in the base of the switch. There is no measurable hysteresis, which therefore causes erratic operation and short cycling of the pump. It would work much better with an inch or two of differential between opening and closing. This switch would be better suited as a limit or warning switch, it is not very good as a vacuum control switch. The included terminals to not seem to be correct for the connector, they are loose and do not seat fully, but they do work. The switch is currently working to control a relay which controls a Hella UP28 vacuum pump, but I will be looking for a more suitable replacement.Ce n' est pas un interrupteur. Good braking power. Clear instructions. Last electric connector, with hole, had to be drilled out to fit the bolt on pressure switch. Seems well made.
