As an adult who has very quickly tired of the many handheld games I have gone through over many years,I find this one never ceases to be great fun.You have 10 tries to guess the word, filling the blanks(3 to 7 words)or get hanged. It has 10 catagories and over 8000 word possibilities,so I can't understand how anyone finds any predictabilty to it.You can turn off the sound effects, but they are not loud like so many other games. In these days when we keep reading about improving brain health and function by doing games and puzzles,I feel like I'm accomplishing something while having fun at the same time.I purchased this for myself -- an adult -- for a cross-country flight. Used it about six times, and realized that one important reason for why I love Hangman is the interaction I get playing with it with my son. However, this does deliver what you'd expect, and I think younger people would enjoy it under the right circumstances (being alone, bored, on a trip, waiting for the doctor, etc.).Gave as a gift, I presume it works ok.OK, if you're like me you are constantly looking for something to distract your kids on car rides and in restaurants. Hangman is usually a "do it yourself" game, but it's not always easy to come up with words while you yourself are distracted by driving or an illusive adult conversation. This game is still entertaining kids ages 5-13 and a few adults whose ages will not be disclosed here:-)This is a piece of junk. Upon trying to insert the supplied battery (large watch style) the device would power up but reinstalling the battery door, something would short inside and kill the power. I spent an hour trying to bend the battery contact in unique ways to keep contact but it would never work. I finally was able to get it to work by folding up cardboard which would keep pressure on the battery but not to much then taping the cardboard into place with duct tape. I guess it works fine now that I have remodeled it. Buy something else.I was disappointed with this game. I thought the letters you guess would be placed in the right position in the word. For example, if the word is "fox" and you guess an "O" the game would place that letter first. Then if you guessed "F" next, it would say OF_. You then had to figure out what the last letter was AND unscramble the word. I purchased another Hangman product I liked much better.Fun and it really tests your knowledge of words. Large vocabulary selection to avoid repitition. Great for long car rides!I bought this electric Hangman simply because I love playing Hangman. I am 66 years old and probably never buy games but this one had me intrigued right from the start. After several times of using it, the game repeated and became less satisfying.
