The purpose of this cable is to reduce the weight of the pruner, so that when you’re using it, the battery is not on the pruner, but sits in a pocket or in some sort of Fanny pack, etc. There is not much difference in weight, as the battery itself isn’t that heavy, the pruner is fairly light to begin with, and you still have the weight of the block on the end of the cable that must plug in to the pruner. In addition, the battery will not easily fit in a pocket, and then you have to deal with the dangling cord, which can catch on branches, etc.I bought it for my wife who is petite, thinking she’d like the lighter weight. She doesn’t use it and has no issue with the pruner’s weight.Three stars because it does work properly.
