It's just barley, lentils (various), and peas, that's it. No added taste enhancers, no salt, no spices, no nuthin' else. Just those ingredients. If you're expecting more, or expecting savory taste, it's not, but that's what I was looking for (to combine with bouillon powder to make soup) and it's fine for that.As other reviewers have pointed out, it takes a long time to re-hydrate these dried veggies. In the soups I've made so far, one hour in boiling water was barely long enough. Better to plan on two hours to get the lentils to soft consistency.Price at the time I bought was $8 for 36 oz, which seems to me to be a pretty good deal. I've tried other dried veggie mixes (some of which were up to 3x more expensive per pound) and really not any better.If you're looking for just plain dried barley, beans, and peas, this is a good deal.
